After a five year pause, it was time for this literary journal to begin publishing again. All it needed was new branding, design, campaign tools, long-term marketing strategies, and data migration from its ancient CMS.
Redesigns are often delicate problems and especially when the original is a beloved but mobile-unfriendly skeuomorphic layout. Through user research, we identified the core emotions people experienced when using the previous site and made sure the new design would illicit the same responses – and more. The result is a playful take on the original that doubles down on the journal’s main objective: to document our endless journeys.
