This Montessori school needed an updated website, but a simple redesign would have done little to relieve the site’s greater, invisible problems. Their membership process showed friction at every turn, Excel and Word files were used in place of accessible web features, and the result was an out-of-date, unused, and often unusuable resource.
We analyzed the organization’s needs and created a digital strategy for both building and maintaining a new platform. Visual design took a decided second place in this project – the main focus lay in creating sophisticated solutions that appeared simple and virtually maintenance-free for the local administrators and users.
The result: member involvement increased; staff workload decreased. Common backend publishing tasks were moved to the frontend, automatic documentation, backup and update workflows were created, and a knowledge base was designed to allow members the opportunity to strengthen the resource for years to come.
Much of the design exists below the surface in this project – for example, content security which formerly required opting-in now occurs automatically for all private content.
